Georgia is one of the top states for cotton production in the United States. This production is seen all throughout South Georgia. The predominant areas are in Southwest, Central, and on the South Carolina line. In 2021, there were 2.2 million bales of cotton that was produced in Georgia. The largest counties are Dooly and Worth which each had over 100,000 bales of production in 2021. Other counties that were over 50,000 include Burke, Bulloch, Brooks, Coffee, Colquitt, Crisp, Decatur, Early, Irwin, Mitchell, Screven, and Thomas. Another twenty counties have over 25,000 bales of production which shows the power that Georgia has in cotton production spread across the state.
