With recent changes in weather patterns, Georgia is a state where cabbage production has been increasing and is expected to continue to rise. Four counties in Georgia currently have APH crop insurance policies for cabbage. While this is a step in the right direction, there are other counties that will likely need insurance in the future to handle this growing demand in Georgia. Florida is a state where cabbage production has already seen increases. There were 6,300 acres harvested in 2021. There are six active counties in Florida with insurance, which definitely needs in increase. Some counties, such as Highlands, where there is no current policy even though the county is well known for cabbage.
